Watch children test whether objects sink or float.

Directions

Before you watch: Tell children they will watch other children experimenting with sinking and floating.

After you watch:

Can you describe some of the experiments the children tried?
What did Keenan do with the two walnuts? What was different about them? Why do you think the one with the skin sank to the bottom and the one without the skin floated?
What did Emma do with the tube? How did she get it to float?

Optional: Show the video a second time. Ask children what else they noticed this time around.
