Materials
- water table, large tub, or plastic wading pool
- water tools and containers from Weeks 1 and 2
- pieces of wood
- paper towels, plastic sheets, newspapers, or towels for keeping floor dry
On Days 4 and 5 add:
- toy boats
- Styrofoam trays, plastic plates, pieces of Styrofoam
- plastic cups, containers, and bottles (retained from Weeks 1 and 2)
- pieces of wood
- straws and craft sticks
- aluminum foil, cut into six inch squares
- clay
- masking tape and scissors
(You may want to store the art supplies in the Art Center.)
Directions
For the first three days of the week, encourage children to continue to experiment with different tools at the water table.
On Day 4 and Day 5, children will be exploring floating and sinking boats. Clear away some of the water tools they’ve been using, retain plastic cups, containers, and bottles, and introduce toy boats and boat-building materials.
