Materials
- Include whatever instruments you have available: drums, triangle, xylophone, thumb piano, tambourine, and so on. Toy versions of these are fine.
- Post pictures of different instruments and people playing them: an orchestra, a pop singer, a jazz band, a rock ‘n’ roll group, a salsa band, country singers, and other musical groups from around the world.
Directions
Children will have the chance to play a few instruments as well as see pictures of different instruments, musical groups, and people playing music. Introduce children to the different instruments you’ve collected, then point out other instruments in the photographs, and mention some of the different types of music represented.
