Make shadow puppets.

Materials

art supplies (pencils, crayons, markers, paper, and clipboards)
printer paper and construction paper
scissors
glue, paste, or tape
Popsicle sticks or straws

Directions

Since this week’s focus is on shadow theaters and puppets, invite children to make shadow puppets they can use during this week’s activities and in the other shadow centers. To make a puppet, have children draw an outline of their puppet on a piece of paper, cut out their puppet, and attach a Popsicle stick or straw to the back with tape as a handle. Encourage children to decorate their puppets and then use them in the Large Shadow Theater learning center.
