Ask children to describe the sleds in the video and the toy sleds they created. What shape were these sleds? What do they all have in common? What do they think makes a good sled?
Ask children if they know of any other games or sports that can be played on snow or ice, and whether they are played on a slanted surface.
Together, review the “Slide, Roll, Stay in Place” chart. Ask children if there are any additional objects to add to the chart. Focus on the “Stay in Place” objects and ask children why they think these objects don’t roll or slide.
